Attributes & Display Groups

Attributes

Attributes in the Jasper PIM are flexible fields that can be used to power faceted search applications, organize data for internal use, or display specialized assets on product detail pages. They are a place to store all your custom data points.

Display Groups

Display groups are configurable groupings of attributes for display purposes only. Attributes can only belong to a single display group. The attribute tab on product pages will contain a collapsible list of all the display groups that contain attributes assigned to the product. This allows you to store large numbers of attributes on the product while maintaining an easy and intuitive workflow when assigning or editing values.

Creating a Display Group

  1. First navigate to the Display Groups menu by going to Configuration > Attributes > Display Groups from the left side navigation

  2. Click + Add Display Group inside the dotted line box

  3. Fill in the Name

  4. Click Save Name

Adding Attributes to a Display Group

The Display group edit page is a drag and drop editor. Search for the attributes you wish to add from the left side search bar and drag them one by one to the groups you wish. All your changes can be made at one time and you simply need to Save Display Groups from the upper right to solidify everything.

Removing Attributes from a Display Group

Drag the attribute you wish to remove from one display group to another or to remove entirely drag it to the left side list of available attributes. Remember to Save Display Groups to finalize the changes.

Deleting a Display Group

If you no longer wish to use a particular Display Group click the red and white trash can icon on the display group and confirm. Remember to Save Display Groups to finalize the changes.

Normal vs Tabbed Groups

If you wish to elevate a particular display group from the attributes tab on the product up to its own section under General you can toggle the Normal slider over to Tabbed. Remember to Save Display Groups to finalize the changes.

The Default Grouping

All attributes assigned to products that are not part of a specific Display Group will appear under the Default Grouping.
