Getting Started

Welcome to Jasper PIM BigCommerce! This is an all-in-one onboarding guide to help get you started with setting up your own PIM by referring to various article links in our Knowledge Base to make it easier to find important references while you are learning the Jasper PIM platform. The provided sequence with each section is a recommendation of process flow that you may want to take as you learn the Jasper PIM platform.

Channels

One of the key features with the Jasper PIM is the capability to support multiple BigCommerce stores and marketplaces (depending on pricing plan and add-ons). It's also a good starting point to begin learning the PIM with setting up a BigCommerce Web Channel. Below are two articles we recommend checking out to help you understand the features and configuration of Channels:

If you are just starting out with creating your e-commerce store, we recommend clearing out all of the sample products and categories first in the BigCommerce platform. You can proceed with creating the products in your PIM individually or by performing an import which we will discuss further in this onboarding guide.

If you have products in your BigCommerce and are ready to import, then we do offer the following options:

Product Attributes

The next key feature with the Jasper PIM platform is the understanding and creation of Attributes. We recommend setting up a few test Attributes to get familiar with the different types and how they would be applied to a product.

Attributes are flexible fields that can be used to power faceted search applications, organize data for internal use, or display specialized assets on product detail pages. They are a place to store all your custom data points.

Categories

The next step in getting your PIM set up is creating categories. This is another great feature in the Jasper PIM platform especially when you have multiple stores and would need to keep the categories organized based on each one.Organizing your products is an essential part of product information management. The PIM offers tools to organize your products to provide the best customer experience possible when publishing to your websites.

Versions

Most of the time, when making the decision to sell across multiple channels and websites, the sheer amount of effort required to make an impact in each marketplace can be a barrier. Jasper PIM takes the headache out of selling on multiple channels with product Versions. This is another great enhancement when needing to support multiple websites and marketplaces.

Products

After going through the series of features and settings listed above, it is now time to take that next step which is creating individual products. We also have the capability to create and support Options (Variants) in the Jasper PIM platform to allow for different variants within each product.
